Aviation & Technical Education Center
Burlington School District
Located next to BETA Technologies at the Burlington International Airport (BTV), the new Burlington Aviation and Technical Education Center provides high school and adult learners practical training in aviation technology and several other high-demand careers.
The project occupies a repurposed hangar that sat vacant for many years before undergoing a complete transformation into a state-of-the-art educational facility. The renovated space includes teaching labs and classroom space for four programs: aviation and aerospace technology, airframe and powerplant technology, automotive science and technology, and advanced manufacturing. Largely funded by federal dollars, the facility complies with Buy America, Build America (BABA) guidelines and meets FAA Certified Part 147 program requirements.
The 34,445 square-foot facility provides ample space for hands-on work on small aircraft and motor vehicles. The advanced manufacturing program includes tools such as 3-D printers and a woodshop to teach foundational skills in multiple industries.
The Aviation & Technical Education programs offered at the BTV site are just a sampling of the many educational opportunities offered by the Burlington Technical Center, which provides a wide range of vocational and technology education programs to students in the Burlington School District and neighboring communities. The remainder of BTC’s programs are offered at the Burlington High School & Technical Education Center, which will open an all-new facility in the fall of 2026.
