Health & Human Performance Center
Plymouth State University
What do you do with an outdated athletics center and a limited budget? At Plymouth State University, the solution was to repurpose part of the 1960s-era structure and create a whole new building within the existing envelope. Tying it all together is a new two-story lobby and western facade that complements the adjacent AllWell North Field House.
The new structure contains two stories of high-tech classrooms, a multi-purpose laboratory, a state-of-the-art climbing wall, exercise studios, a student lounge, and offices for faculty in the department of health and human performance. These spaces support teaching and research in biomechanics, motor learning, exercise physiology and therapeutic rehabilitation.
