Rutland Regional Medical Center
RRMC
Working off of a new Master Plan, Freeman French Freeman designed three new projects for Rutland Regional Medical Center. The all-new Emergency Department was expanded to include a new fast-track care zone and patient monitoring area, while the existing ED was renovated to provide new and larger spaces for the diagnostic imaging and in-patient rehabilitation departments. Food service operations were also consolidated in one location with a new servery and dining area.
The Master Plan also called for a new central plant to replace the hospital’s 50-year old boiler plant. The new stand-alone facility cost less to build than renovating the existing plant, and the new high-efficiency boiler will produce significant annual savings for the hospital.
FFF emphasized project phasing so that all departments remained completely operational throughout construction. The project was completed two months early and $1 million under budget.
