City Place Construction Begins

The much-anticipated CityPlace project is finally becoming a reality in downtown Burlington, Vermont.

On December 21, 2022, crews from SD Ireland poured the first concrete footings for what will eventually be over 700,000 square feet of new housing, retail, and office space.

With occupancy anticipated in late 2025, CityPlace will feature:

• Over 400 residential units in three buildings
• Eighty-five permanently affordable apartments, built in partnership with Evernorth and Champlain Housing Trust
• Ground-level shopping and restaurant space
• Office space
• Underground parking for over 400 vehicles
• A publicly accessible rooftop terrace
• The reconnection of Saint Paul and Pine Streets, which help create a more vibrant and walkable downtown

The design team for CityPlace includes Stantec and Engineering Ventures, (Civil Engineering) Hardy Structural Engineering, (Structural Engineering) LN Consulting, (MEP/FP Engineering) and SE Group (Landscape Architecture).
